|Clifford A. Ramirez
is the President and Founder of Cliff Ramirez & Associates (pdrenterprises.net),
a FERPA and organizational development training company
designed for higher education and other service industries.
In conjunction with LRP Publications, Cliff has produced
a number of FERPA training products. He is the author
of two books based upon "Managing the Privacy
of Student Records," a highly successful FERPA
workshop he created and developed. Cliff has also released "FERPA
Fundamentals: What Higher Education Administrators
Should Know," a FERPA training video, and "FERPA:
What You Can and Can't Release," an audiocassette
based upon a nationally broadcast audio conference
Working in higher education since 1990, Cliff spent
14 years at UCLA as Assistant Registrar for both Training & Communication
Services and for Academic Record Services. In addition
to his responsibilities as the campus FERPA trainer
and expert, Cliff also served in a temporary appointment
to address morale and organizational development issues
in the UCLA Division of Student Affairs.
Active in his profession, Cliff has been a member of the American Association
of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers (AACRAO), the American Society
for Training & Development (ASTD), the Council on Law in Higher Education
(CLHE), the National Notary Association (NNA), and the Pacific Association of
Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers (PACRAO).
Among Cliff's many achievements are the founding of three prestigious professional
development institutes. As ASA president, Cliff founded the UC Management & Leadership
(UCML) Conference in 1995 and the ASA Leadership Development Institute in 1999.
As PACRAO President in 2003, he developed and hosted the very first PACRAO Emerging
Professionals Institute for new and developing registrars and admissions professionals.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Cliff studied
at the Graduate Theological Union while studying for
the Roman Catholic priesthood. His diverse background
includes 12 years at Bank of America, working in its
branches operations and corporate communications divisions.
